The Dining Out NYC program, which allows restaurants to operate outdoor set-ups while meeting cleanliness and accessibility standards, has improved streetscapes and diner experiences. Now in its seventh month of operation, the program includes some upcoming deadlines that restaurant owners should know:
By November 1, 2024:
Owners who applied to the Dining Out NYC program on or before August 3 must be in compliance with all Dining Out NYC requirements.
By November 30, 2024:
All roadway cafes must be removed. Roadway cafes may only operate between April 1 and November 29.
One important note: If you participated in the temporary Open Restaurants program during COVID-19 but did not apply to the Dining Out NYC program by August 3, you are required to remove your outdoor dining setup immediately.
