Recently the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) launched a new interactive map for landmarked sites.
The new site, called Discover NYC Landmarks, shows each and every designated landmark in New York City. This includes individual buildings, interiors, historic districts, scenic landmarks, and even calendared properties. Calendared properties are those properties under consideration for designation by LPC.
The new map allows users to search for a landmark by name or address or simply browse an area on the map. After selecting an individual landmark or district on the map, basic information is displayed, such as the landmark type, designation date, and architect. The map also provides a direct link to the designation report for each landmarked property or district.
