The 2022 New York City Fire Code will take effect on April 15, 2022 as per Local Law 47 of 2022.
Applications filed before April 15th must comply with the 2014 NYC Fire Code. Applications filed on or after April 15th must comply with the 2022 NYC Fire Code.
The 2022 Fire Code is the product of a three-year review process and incorporates provisions from the 2012 and 2015 International Fire Code as well as select provisions from the 2018 International Fire Code.
