To follow up on last week’s newsletter, the DOB just published information regarding compliance deadlines for the 2020 NYC Energy Conservation Code (NYCECC).
Applications filed on or before May 11, 2020 with a complete submission and energy analysis must follow 2016 NYCECC.
Applications filed on or after May 12, 2020 must follow 2020 NYCECC.
A New Building (NB) application with all necessary architectural, foundation, structural plans, lighting and energy analysis construction documents submitted before May 12, 2020 is subject to 2016 NYCECC. Any related filings, such as mechanical systems and boilers submitted on or after May 12, 2020 may continue to use 2016 NYCECC.
If an application subject to 2016 NYCECC is amended to substantially increase the scope of work the buildings must then fully comply with 2020 NYCECC, unless otherwise authorized by the DOB.
