The recent announcement by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) introduces an important update regarding the NYC DOB Civil Penalty Increase. This increase specifically applies to penalties associated with the failure to submit an acceptable Certificate of Correction for an Immediately Hazardous Class 1 Summons (AEUHAZ).

Effective to summonses issued on or after May 15, 2022, the fine has been raised from $3,000 to $5,000 and is applicable to summonses issued for immediately hazardous conditions at construction sites, excluding one- to four-family homes.

Payments can be made through the eFiling system using eCheck or credit card. Please note that in-person or mail payments are not accepted.
