Land Use Specialist
New York City development consulting firm seeks qualified individuals to work in their Land Use and Zoning Group. This group is responsible for providing our clients and staff with analysis and review of building plans or potential development schemes for conformance with the NYC Zoning Resolution. The position requires excellent verbal and writing skills as the job calls for the complex analysis of ordinances, development of reports, and interaction with a large number of people on a wide variety of projects. Proven experience with use and application of the New York City Zoning Resolution as well as a good general familiarity with development and building laws, ULURP Process, Board of Standards and Appeals and City Planning Commission are necessary for the position.
Applicants must possess a degree in Law, Planning, Architecture or Engineering. Applicants with only limited New York City experience will not be considered.
Expediting: Project Closeout Specialist
Individuals must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of expediting with direct project management skills related to Certificates of Occupancy. All candidates must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the entire filing process including preparation of forms, filing, approvals, permits with special focus on sign offs and certificates of occupancy. Candidates must also be familiar with addressing ECB and DOB violations, and stop work orders. Preference will be given to candidates with college degrees and those with direct architectural, engineering or construction experience.
Individuals selected for this position will be expected to generate complex reports, meet with clients, visit job sites and make presentations. The ability to speak clearly and convey ideas, as well as excellent writing skills are a must for this position. Expediter Registration in good standing with the Department of Buildings is required.
This position is not intended for people with field experience only. Proven office experience developing project strategy and managing are pre-requisite.
Building Code and Zoning Expert
New York City consulting firm seeks qualified individuals to work in their Code and Zoning Compliance Group. This group is responsible for providing clients and staff with analysis and review of building plans or potential building schemes for conformance with applicable New York City building codes and the Zoning Resolution. The position requires excellent verbal and writing skills as the job calls for the complex analysis of ordinances, development of reports, and interaction with a large number of people on a wide variety of projects.
Applicants for the position must possess a degree in Architecture or Engineering. Preference will be given to those with a professional license or those with engineering degrees and experience specifically related to the design of life safety systems or other forms of fire behavior analysis. Experience must include hands on expertise in the review of complex building projects with focus on code and zoning compliance. Extensive familiarity with all of New York City’s building codes is absolutely required for this position. An understanding of the organizational process of the Department of Buildings and city government is a plus. Applicants with only limited New York City experience will not be considered. Applicants with expertise in building codes and not zoning, will be considered.
Project / Administrative Assistant
The position is an in-office job that includes execution of the existing filing strategy, preparation of applications, and coordination of documents. It is imperative that you have the ability to understand and execute assigned tasks based on protocol. The position demands that you have above average organizational and strong communication skills.
