Earlier this month, legislation was introduced to the New York City Council that will impact all building owners, developers and architects. Sponsored by Council Member Pierina Ana Sanchez at the request of Mayor Eric Adams, the proposed Local Law will establish an “Existing Building Code” and repeal the 1968 building code.
