DOT Holiday Construction Embargo: November 20 and November 23 – January 2

A special holiday construction embargo shall be in effect for the period of Friday, November 20, 2015 from 6:00 am to 11:59 pm and again from 6:00 am Monday, November 23, 2015 through 11:59 pm Sunday, January 2, 2016.  As a result, all routine work shall be suspended during the embargo period unless approval for the work is granted by the Department’s Office of Construction Mitigation and Coordination (OCMC). Such suspension shall not apply to emergency work for which an emergency number is obtained by the permittee pursuant to the provisions of section 2-11 of the Department’s Highway Rules which can be found here.

It shall be a violation of the Department’s Highway Rules to perform any work on the street during this embargo period without the prior approval of OCMC or the receipt of an emergency number. The Department will strictly enforce this embargo and violators are subject to penalties.
