In accordance with Executive Order No. 123 enacted June 7, 2020, the Department of Buildings (DOB) has released updated guidance for the reopening of construction sites as part of Phase 1 of New York State’s reopening plan.
The updated DOB guidance states that all personnel on a construction site must wear face coverings appropriate to their task, unless an individual is medically unable to do so.
Buildings Bulletin 2020-010 was published yesterday to outline additional guidance regarding the reopening of suspended construction sites. The Bulletin addresses reopening suspended sites, procedures for reopened sites that may need to suspend operations again, and sites where operations remain suspended and are now considered abandoned. Owners and contractors should carefully review the Bulletin, if there are any concerns please feel free to reach out to our office.
Please see our prior newsletter regarding full DOB guidance for reopening construction sites.
The DOB has published a helpful reopening checklist for owners and contractors regarding the actions needed to restart construction.
As more information becomes available we will continue to update our newsletter and website, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for assistance with your project.
